Q: How does your service work?

RenovationFind is a free online directory of certified contractors, trades, and home renovation companies. Businesses found on the website are rated based on a third-party screen process. The screening includes legal and credit checks, verifying proof of insurance and a valid business licenses, and it monitors customer feedback. Companies that are a part of the Better Business Bureau will get a higher rating on the directory. The companies on the website are continuously monitored to ensure they’re keeping up to our high standards.   RenovationFind helps homeowners find reliable services for their renovation projects. We also promote good companies that consumers can trust. Both customers and the companies benefit from RenovationFind.

Q: What can we look forward to from you at the Edmonton Home and Garden Show?

At the Edmonton Home and Garden Show, we will have a booth where people can come and learn more about us and what we do. We are encouraging people to post their projects with us, so we can get them quotes from relevant contractors for those projects. For example, if they need help with a bathroom project, we will send the details of their project to three bathroom renovation companies. Those companies will then contact the homeowner for more information and give them an accurate quote for the project.

Q: What advice do you have for homeowners?

Research, Research. Research. You should also do thorough research on any company before you hire them to work in your house. Check their credentials, ask for references, ask to see a business license and proof of insurance. Get all quotes and contracts in detail and in writing before agreeing to any work.

When asking for references, ask for the last three jobs they completed. In doing this, the company won’t be able to choose their three very best references, so you’ll get a more honest picture of the company this way.

Q: What inspires your services?

Working in the home renovation industry through another business, we were constantly hearing horror stories from homeowners working with bad contractors. People were getting taken advantage of, and it was causing a lot of stress and often, leaving a financial burden. Providing homeowners with honest contractors who provide high-quality work and customer service will help stop that from happening. Not only is it better for homeowners, it helps improve the reputation of the renovation industry too.

Q: What is your favourite part of the Edmonton Home and Garden Show?

Meeting homeowners and helping them to connect with renovation companies that can help them with their projects. Connecting the two with each other helps both parties out, and that is really what we want to do.

Q: What design or decor trends did you love in 2019 or anticipate for 2020?

When speaking to homeowners at the different shows like this one, we are seeing that most people are choosing to fix up their current home instead of selling and moving into a new house. People are looking for their forever home, and tailor-making it to fit the needs of their family. Whether it’s a small or large project, it’s been wonderful to watch people make changes to their home for their long-term stay.

Q: Are there any success stories you'd like to share?

Based on customer feedback, homeowners have been quite pleased with the RenovationFind directory of certified companies. Having access to pre-screen renovation companies takes out the stress of a renovation, because people know that the companies they are working with are trustworthy and will get the project done properly. For the companies, we promote their services to their target demographic, and help them get qualified leads through their profile on the RenovationFind website.

Q: What can folks expect when they work with you?

Homeowners that use our site can expect that they will be getting a company or contracting service that does quality work, and that they can trust with their home projects.
