Please describe your services.
"We provide wing-to-wing project management for any concrete-related project, including driveway replacement, sidewalk repair or patio pad installation. Because we manufacture and supply our own concrete, we control the quality and can work closely with customers to schedule projects at their convenience...all while ensuring the project is on time and on budget! We also design and manufacture anything concrete, ranging from concrete countertops to coffee tables and from precast industrial equipment to fire bowls and dining room tables. We are: Quality Concrete. Small Batches. At Your Door."
What are your best home or garden tips for the season?
"Outdoor living is a hot trend for 2016! With more and more homeowners looking to get year-round enjoyment out of their yards and to create attractive yet functional outdoor living and entertaining spaces, concrete is playing an increasingly important role in landscape design, architecture and even in outdoor furniture and decor. According to City MiniMix Concrete Inc., a local leader in managing backyard projects, kitchens will be the most popular outdoor living trend in 2016."
What are your featured items this season?
"This season we are featuring outdoor kitchens and concrete furniture! Kent Majeau, co-owner of City MiniMix, says 'People are becoming more sophisticated in terms of how they want their outdoor kitchens to look and feel. They want their outdoor kitchens to become the “heart” of their backyard, an extension of their homes and a beautiful place to cook, eat and entertain family and friends. Using concrete, the design options for outdoor kitchen spaces and the accompanying furniture pieces are endless.'"
What are your home or garden pet peeves?
"Since we think concrete is beautiful, (and we have a serious passion for it!), our pet peeve is when concrete is not formed, placed or finished properly. In other words - when the concrete project does not display quality workmanship, we get "grouchy" because we want every concrete project to look professional, durable and beautiful!"
What is your favourite part about the Edmonton Home + Garden Show?
"Our favourite part about the Edmonton Home + Garden Show is meeting lots of new customers and being able to answer all their concrete-related questions! People often find the subject of concrete intimidating, so we enjoy being able to provide free technical advice and putting their minds at ease about their concrete projects or problems."
Is there anything else you think folks should know about your company?
"In 2015, City MiniMix was awarded Canada's "Most Promising Start-up" award from over 3,300 applicants in the annual TELUS Business and Globe & Mail Small Business Challenge Contest. We were extremely surprised and proud to be selected from among thousands of small businesses across Canada for this prestigious award!"
